Questions - photography tutoring
Who should take these private photography tutoring sessions?
These 1-on-1 private sessions are created for beginners and non-technical people who want to jump into photography but need hands-on help with their camera settings.
You may have owned your camera for a day or for months; either way, it's time to stop watching tons of technical YouTube videos and actually have an in-person training session to help you take better photos.
I've helped many people over my career, including:
• Private photography lessons for Stay-at-home moms & dads (wanting to take photos of  family)
• Photography beginners looking to start with natural light
• Photography beginners looking to shoot portraits, family sessions, senior sessions, or small events
• Content creators & Influencers switching from phones
• Business Owners & Entrepreneurs
• Photography Hobbiest & Enthusiasts
• Non-technical people
Payment for booking a session
Payment is required before the session starts. This is non-negotiable.
50% of the payment is non-refundable and is used to hold your time slot. I can work with clients to reschedule as needed. If a time and place are not agreed upon for rescheduling, then 50% refund is initiated.
You agree to these terms before booking a tutoring session.
What do I need to take for our training session?
Please make sure to bring your camera and any accessories you have questions about. Please make sure to charge your camera and have 1 extra battery on hand. Also, make sure to have a formatted memory card and a pen/notepad for taking notes.
I will also have my personal camera on hand to help with the 1-on-1 training. I currently use a Sony a7iii mirrorless camera, but I can help with most digital cameras or camera brands.
(Please note: I do not help with film cameras at this time)
What Happens After The Booking?
Once you book a session, we will arrange a time and a public place to meet so we can go over your camera and the basics. The starter session can be 1-on-1, or you can bring a friend and learn together.
The maximum number of people allowed for a tutoring session is 2. This keeps it small, and I can answer as many questions as possible within the allowed time.
Can I split the cost of a single session with a friend?
Yes, I allow up to 2 people in each session.  This is a great way to learn with a friend or family member and split the cost if needed. I prefer small sessions so I can answer as many questions as needed on-site.
Do you teach photo editing?
Yes, but I do not teach photo editing during our initial tutoring sessions. The session will concentrate on camera basics and photography competition. A separate tutoring session must be purchased for this type of learning.
Where are you located?
I am located in McKinney, TX. This is a north Dallas suburb about 35 mins north of downtown Dallas. I can meet students all around the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area, but prefer to meet at public places like parks, coffee shops, or studios if the client prefers.
Please note: the client is responsible for all costs and booking of the photography studio.
